Amway Center is a destination for live entertainment: home to the NBA’s Orlando Magic, an NCAA March Madness host, and a stop on nearly every global concert tour. Baker Barrios brought the venue to life as its primary architect — and helped cultivate an engaging fan experience through interior design.

As Central Florida’s largest entertainment venue, Amway Center welcomes global talents and championship sports teams, contributing millions of dollars to the local economy. The 800,000 sq ft arena offers seating for up to 20,000 nightly visitors — but the pulse-pounding events often have fans rising to their feet. At the whistle, Amway Center pivots athletically from a 180-degree concert venue to an NCAA basketball mainstage, hosting one of history’s most exciting March Madness tournaments in 2023.
The reinterpreted Amway Center replaced the outgoing Amway Arena, which had for nearly 20 years been Orlando’s premier sports and entertainment venue. The new structure symbolized a new era for the city, with Baker Barrios looking optimistically toward the future with the center’s design.
Bringing this design to life took several years and nearly 300 million pounds of concrete. The final result is a fitting venue for the city’s legendary sports teams, and an environment worthy of fan pilgrimages from Tampa, Miami, and beyond.
